Now is the time to buy stock in Electronic Arts stock symbol: (ERTS) The stock is on the rise for the designers of EA Sports games. Check any recent chart and see that they have been on a slow but steady climb since March 2008 when their stock hit $15.93 per share. Currently trading at $22.97 this stock was trading at $48.39 a year ago today and in early 2008 was trading at over $60.00 per share. So why buy Electronic Arts stock now? Simple, they have major growth ahead of them and upcoming sales should be booming with the latest release of Sims 3 that just came out last Tuesday June 2, 2009. On top of what will likely be a record sales with the new Sims, Electronic Arts is partner with a company called Onlive that has plans to release a new video game service that will revolutionize the video games industry.
Some of the other Onlive partners include UBISOFT, T2, WB Games, Eidos, NVIDIA, ATARI, Codemasters, EPIC Games, THQ, and 2D BOY.
Onlive is teaming up with some of the biggest video game designers in the world and before long they might just have everyone eating out of the palm of their hand. Whether or not Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo are going to allow this to happen is not certain but so far no claims have been made by any other gaming company that they have something even better than Onlive.
When will Onlive officially be released to the public? They are still beta testing which started back in Winter of 2009 but for now you'll have to wait. You can however signup for the Beta Testing Program.
Electronic Arts will benefit from the "Games on Demand" concept that Onlive is launching. No longer will you need bulky video game consoles like the massive Sony PS3 or the giant XBOX 360. You will still have a tiny console that could fit in one hand. The Onlive mini console will also come with a user friendly controller.
You will be able to play Onlive on any TV, PC, or Mac computer.
No more rushing to the store to get the last copy of the latest games, now you can download any game or rent them from the comfort of your home, I'm excited to see where Onlive will take the video game community and hope to see Onlive games up and running soon. I'll be the first to buy an Onlive membership when it is released.
